CHRIS Hubilla shone anew as reigning champion San Beda overpowered Mapua 86-75 yesterday in the stepladder playoff of the 98th NCAA juniors’ basketball tournament at the San Andres Sports Complex.
Hubilla sizzled in both offense and defense with 22 points, nine rebounds, four steals, and two assists.
Andrei Dungo and John Lopez also contributed 16 and 11 markers, respectively, while Nino Mundas tallied nine points and 10 boards.
San Beda advanced to the playoffs ladder and will battle La Salle Green Hills on Thursday for a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four.
The Mendiola-based squad booted out San Sebastian College last Thursday.
