A SECOND straight title that will be capped by a season sweep looms for defending champion Letran.
Knights coach Bonnie Tan, however, maintained the title battle is far from done.
“Palagi kong sinasabi na we treat each game as a championship game. Hindi namin tinitingnan iyong sweep or kung sino makakalaban namin before, kung San Beda or Mapua.
Hindi na namin alam kung nagkamali kami kasi against San Beda, alam na namin na nasa top two na kami pero naglaro pa rin iyong players to win, ginawa nila best nila,” Tan said.
“Hindi kami namili and sabi ko ano man ang result ng championship na ito sana tama iyong ginagawa namin and nakita ko naman na wala kaming nagawang mali kagaya ng magpatalo,” he added.
Letran seeks to retain the crown when it squares off with Mapua University on Sunday, May 22, in Game 2 of their best-of-3 finals duel in the 97th NCAA basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
The match is set at 3 p.m. after the league fetes the players who stood out in the tourney held amidst the pandemic.
