SENIOR Associate Justice Marvic Leonen is the acting Chief Justice until September 27, when Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo returns from official travel to Spain and Portugal.
Although the SC did not provide additional details, it was learned that Gesmundo left the country last September 15 to attend seminars, conferences and partnership meetings as part of the invitation extended by the Universidad de Malaga in Malaga, Spain.
Gesmundo was accompanied by Associate Justice Mario Lopez and several SC and Philippine Judicial Academy officials.
