Maya, the financial technology arm of the PLDT Group, is now offering stock trading options to its users.
Called Maya Stocks, this complements the suite of service the app offers to users under its wealth-building product Maya Invest.
In October, Maya rolled out its Maya Funds, which allows users to start investing for as low as P50 in unit investment trust funds managed by ATRAM Trust Corp. and mutual funds managed by BPI Asset Management Inc. Maya meanwhile also offers cryptocurrency trading under its Maya Crypto, which enables users to get buy crypto units for as low as P1.
With Maya Stocks, users can now buy, sell, and manage shares of publicly listed companies starting December 15.
Maya partnered with stocbrokers Philstocks.
It said that it will also soon partner with 2TradeAsia, DragonFi and Seedbox for the service.
The fintech firm said that it is the only digital bank app that offers investors their choice of broker and investment terms.
“We’re pioneering a new era of access to investments — making it simpler, faster, and more seamless. With Maya Stocks, we are transforming the Philippine investment landscape with instant transactions and all-in-one digital banking experience, accelerating the nation’s journey towards broader investment ownership,” said Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group president.
