A POLICEMAN and three cohorts were arrested by police operatives while in the act of stealing cable wires of telecommunications giant PLDT in Quezon City last Tuesday.
The suspects were identified as Corporal Francis Baquiran, 27, assigned with the Eastern Police District (EPD); Ivan Fritz Valtiedaz, 26, a criminology graduate; Richard Repal, 32, and Needrick Suing, 25.
The suspects, all residents of Quezon City, were caught by Quezon City Police District (QCPD) operatives at around 1:50 a.m. taking copper cables of PLDT along CP Garcia Ave. beside Baluyot Court in Barangay Krus na Ligas.
The QCPD said it coordinated with a representative of the PDLT to verify if the four are PLDT employees. The suspects were arrested after it was established that they are not connected with PLDT.
Investigation showed that one of the suspects, Baquiran, is a policeman assigned with the EPD.
