Squires, Robins seek win No. 7

OUT to strengthen their Final Four bids, Letran and Mapua go for their seventh wins against separate foes today in the 98th NCAA juniors’ basketball tournament at the Emilio Aguinaldo College Gym.

The Red Robins take on San Sebastian’s Golden Staglets at 7:30 a.m. in the first game of a five-game bill, followed by the collision between Arellano University and EAC at 9:30 a.m.

Lyceum and Perpetual clash at 11:30.

San Sebastian and La Salle Green Hills are currently running third and fourth, respectively, with 5-2 cards, while the San Beda Red Cubs are in fifth with a 4-3 slate.

Last Wednesday, Mapua notched its sixth win and booted out EAC from the playoffs with a, 86-63 rout, while San Sebastian downed the Junior Altas 84-69.

Ricci Santos, Joseph Manuel, Paolo Morenos, BJ Catapang and Carl Rodriguez are expected lead Mapua.

San Sebastian will rely on Mark De Leon, Stephen Jardinico, Rion Porcadas, Raphael Reyes, and Justine Bandino.

The Squires and the Greenies collide at 2:30 p.m. before JRU and San Beda meet at 4:30.

The Squires went all out two days ago, thumping Lyceum 87-75, while the Greenies stretched their winning streak to five with a 79-69 drubbing of JRU.
