Royce, Koolers overwhelm foes

PAMPANGA Royce Hotel overpowered Cagayan De Oro-PSP 79-62 last Wednesday night for its fourth straight win in the Manila Bankers Life-Pilipinas Super League Pro Division Second Conference Dumper Cup at the Central Recreational Facility in New Era, Quezon City.

Raffy Verano took charge for Pampanga with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Lorenzo Navarro chipped in 11 markers, five boards and four assists.

BJ Andrade also had nine points while Jolo Mendoza and JB Bahio combined for 16 as the wards of coach Sandro Soriano scored a fitting follow up to a 69-52 thumping of Koponang Lakan ng Bulacan last Feb. 10 and rose to 10-1 for solo second in the tilt presented by Dumper party-list, Winzir, and Skin Care Depot.

Cagayan De Oro, coming off a 76-87 loss to the Pampanga G Lanterns last Feb. 6, fell to 3-10.

In the other game, Batang Kankaloo-Caloocan tripped Nueva Ecija 91-79 to get back on track.

Former PBA player Gabby Espinas led the Koolers with a double-double of 23 points and 11 caroms, while Riordan Galicia added 18 and 12.

Caloocan bounced back from a 61-72 defeat to Bulacan last Feb. 2 and improved to 8-3 for fifth.

The Slashers tumbled to their fourth straight setback, including a 65-111 thrashing at the hands of Quezon City last Feb. 6 for a 3-10 slate.

Ian Yutuc and Jeff Comia scored 13 points each for Cagayan De Oro, while Jayvee Dela Cruz got 11.

Jerick Nacpil and Jeremy Cruz combined for 32 points for Nueva Ecija, while Ken Segura, Lawrence Mallari, and Christopher Lagrama contributed 14, 13, and 10 markers, respectively.
