Mystery of ‘missing’ shooting target deepens

EVEN former Philippine National Shooting Association president Luis “Chavit” Singson is concerned over the P1.93 million worth of clay targets that the PNSA bought using the funds of its shotgun shooting members that have gone “missing” at the PSC shooting range in Muntinlupa.

Considered the godfather of local shooting, Singson, now the PNSA honorary chairman, was among three shotgun shooters who sent a demand letter last May 4 to the members of the PNSA Moving Target Aggrupation Committee regarding the equipment.

Named in the demand letter sent by the Divina Law Firm led by Atty. Nilo Divina, dean of the UST Faculty of Law, were PNSA MTA Committee and board members Veneranda “Iryne” Garcia, PNSA secretary general; MTA committee chairman Adel Samson and Jerry Sun.

Aside from Singson, also signing the demand letter asking for an accounting of the assets were former national shotgun shooters and PNSA members Eduardo Fernandez and Raul Arambulo.

They also want the MTA Committee to present the MTA passbook reputedly in the name of Garcia, where P343,231.21 was deposited to be used to purchase the equipment of the shotgun shooters.
