PNP chief Dionardo Carlos promoted Lt. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia to be the PNP’s No. 2 man or deputy chief for administration less than a week after his designation as the PNP deputy chief for operations, the police force’s third highest position.
Sermonia was appointed to his new position effective yesterday, replacing Lt. Gen. Israel Ephraim Dickson, who was reassigned to the office of PNP chief while waiting for his mandatory retirement on March 27.
Sermonia, a member of the Philippine Military Academy class of 1989, was named the PNP deputy chief for operations last March 1 when Dickson was named the PNP deputy chief for administration.
Sermonia previously served as the PNP’s No. 4 man, the chief of the PNP directorial staff, a post he assumed in November last year. Before that, he was the chief of the PNP directorate for operations.
