THE Pi Sigma Fraternity Alumni Association Inc. (PSFAAI) is joining the Filipino people in commemorating the 158th birth anniversary of hero Andres Bonifacio today by holding a bloodletting program dubbed “Katipunan at Kapatiran: Sanduguan Para sa Bayan.”
The daylong activity pays homage to sanduguan (blood compact), the solemn rite of the brave and valiant members of the Kataastaasan, Kagalanggalangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan, who joined the revolutionary movement that Bonifacio founded in 1892 by signing their names with their own blood.
To honor Bonifacio’s heroism, the PSFAAI and its members will be laying a wreath in front of the statue of the “Father of Philippine Revolution” in Vinzon’s Hall of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, at 9 a.m.
This will be followed with the simultaneous blood donation drive organized by the fraternity’s chapters in major cities nationwide in coordination with the Philippine Red Cross.
The PSFAAI urges its members and countrymen to participate in the endeavor by donating their blood in any of the local donation sites.
