Securitization to boost capital market, new BSP Gov says

Key officials and Alternate Board of Directors of the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC) paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Eli Remolona. NHMFC is the sole government entity engaged in  securitization.  From left, Gaudencio Hernandez, VP Ma. Luisa Favila, DOF Asec. Glenda Rumohr, NHMFC President Renato L. Tobias, BSP Governor Eli M. Remolona, BSP deputy governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, DHSUD Asec. Krizzy Crawford De Leon, VP Carolina Cortez, VP Ma. Victoria Alpajaro and NHMFC acting corporate secretary Atty. Joshua Emmanuel Cariño.

Newly appointed Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Eli Remolona said recently that one of the goals of the BSP is the development of the country’s capital market, and Securitization supports said goal of the country’s central money authority.

In a  meeting with the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC) Alternate Board of Directors and key officials led by NHMFC President Renato L. Tobias, Governor Remolona stressed that securitization liquefies non-liquid assets, allowing the production of more loans and mortgages which help develop the capital market. He added that capital market development ultimately supports the liquidity of monetary banks.

President Tobias expressed his appreciation to the BSP’s support in NHMFC’s mandate to provide liquidity in the housing sector through the secondary mortgage market.

NHMFC is the government’s only secondary mortgage institution and a Key Shelter Agency of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development headed by Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, who is also the chairman of the NHMFC board of directors.

DITO delivering ‘real 5G’ to Filipino homes

DITO continues to pour massive investments into its network build-up–delivering 5G speeds to subscribers directly from its 5G infrastructure. This is an upgrade from its main rivals’ dependence on non-standalone 5G network to enable their 5G services.

5G technology enables Filipino to maximize hi-speed connectivity that delivers ultrafast internet connection, processes large volumes of data, connects, reaches more devices,  enables new technologies, and provides lag-free experience.

Supporting this strong demand for high-speed internet, DITO is not just empowering its mobile subscribers, but also Filipino households with DITO Home. With up to 500 Mbps of speed, DITO Home can connect up to 32 devices, enabling Filipinos to upgrade their digital lifestyles and pushing them to do more.

DITO Home is now present in about 500 barangays across Metro Manila and 50 barangays in Cebu, with thousands of Filipino families experiencing DITO’s fastest internet yet.

As it rolls out more 5G sites, the company is on track to reach more Filipino homes. As of end-2022, the company was able to build nearly 6,000 towers across the country and covered more than 700 areas.
