Sending L.O.V.E. to Odette survivors

The League Of Volunteer Employees (L.O.V.E.), RWM’s umbrella program for corporate social responsibility (CSR), in the midst of limited business operations, came together to provide relief to those severely affected.

The CSR team immediately deployed donation boxes to collect relief supplies at various common areas within the RWM offices. Employees pooled resources together and filled up over 180 boxes of relief supplies like ready to eat food, drinking water, and other hygiene and sanitation essentials such as face masks, alcohol, and dental kits. The integrated resort’s CSR team coordinated with the Philippine Coast Guard for immediate deployment of donations to the most vulnerable areas in Bohol and Palawan.

AllHome’s 56th

AllHome Corp. has opened an AllHome store in Worldwide Corporate Center on Shaw boulevard in Mandaluyong, its 56th.

The newest AllHome store is the latest addition in the AllValue roster to expand in the Villar group’s bustling office and commercial complex,” the company said.

Komo launches analytics tool

Komo is introducing  newest feature, Analytics, the country’s first analytics tool in a digital banking service.

This feature is designed to make budget management simple. It comes with an easy-to-navigate tracker that shows the movement of transactions in real time and allows you to set and reach your savings goal.

The Analytics tool is integrated with a Savings Calculator that allows one to set your targeted savings goal  and thus helps one recalibrate his spending habits.

Launched in August 2020, Komo  is the digital banking service of EastWest Bank. It  stands for “Kontrol Mo Ang Pera Mo,” and is the first digital banking service that is proudly established by a local bank.

Operation Bayanihan reaches over 112K

GMA Network’s socio-civic arm GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) through its Operation Bayanihan disaster relief program, hasconducted two waves of aid distribution in areas badly damaged by Typhoon Odette:  Southern Leyte, Surigao del Norte, Siargao Island, Cebu, and Negros Occidental.

As of January 6, a total of 69,080 individuals were given food, Noche Buena packages, bottled water, and hygiene kits.  A third wave of relief goods distribution to an estimated 43,000 individuals is  ongoing in Bohol, Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte, and Limasawa Island in Southern Leyte.

In total, GMAKF will be able to reach over 112,000 individuals from various provinces nationwide. The relief packs were quickly delivered through the help of the Armed Forces of the Philippines as well as with the donations gathered from the public and multi-sectoral partners.

Pay on installment

GCash launched its newest feature, GGives, which allows shoppers to pay for their purchases in easy and flexible installments for up to 12 months with no downpayment and processing fees.

GGives also allows qualified users to pay for big-ticket items as much as P25,000 on installments for as long as 12 months. The new app feature also offers flexibility, allowing select subscribers to choose to pay up to 24 installments or “gives” twice a month to make it more affordable and flexible for subscribers during paydays.

This new feature is available to users with a high GScore on the GCash app.

 

Free charging to e-trike operators

Electric tricycle drivers wait to have their vehicles charged.

AboitizPower subsidiary Cebu Private Power Corp. (CPPC) provided free charging to e-trike operators in Cebu City’s Barangay Ermita, its host community, to aid them in their livelihood.

CPPC’s free charging for electric tricycles or e-trikes started last December 23 in the aftermath of Typhoon Odette and has since been used for a total of 344 charging cycles by around 80 drivers as of 6 a.m. Friday, January 14.

Normally, e-trike drivers would pay P250 to charge their vehicles for three to four hours, which would last them a day. CPPC’s e-trike charging station can accommodate up to four vehicles at a given time.

E-trikes are among the primary modes of transportation around the Carbon Market in Cebu City and its nearby communities.

CPPC will continue to offer its free charging station until about 50 percent of Ermita’s households will be energized.

PLDT Enterprise,  Digital Edge tie up

PLDT Enterprise has forged a partnership with Digital Edge Philippines Inc.  to provide comprehensive connectivity and IT solutions to future customers of its 10-megawatt data center in Biñan, Laguna, a suburban district adjacent to Manila.

The partnership with Digital Edge will allow both companies to tap into the growing cloud and digital opportunities in the country.

Digital Edge is a new pan-Asia data center platform company that is focused on providing colocation, interconnection, and connectivity solutions to cloud and enterprise customers.

SEIPI aids members

The Semiconductor & Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation Inc. (SEIPI)  donated over P2.8 million to aid members in Visayas and Mindanao which were hit by Typhoon Odette.

SEIPI purchased 3,000 boxes of 1,500 ml bottled drinking water for its Cebu member-companies and schools. These were transported by air to Cebu and delivered to the distribution center at Teradyne Philippines in Lapu-lapu City for free by AIR21 and UPS

SEIPI also  provided bottled water to the Cebu offices of PEZA and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), donated P100,000 to PEZA for the purchase of construction materials for Typhoon Odette victims in Cebu, and allotted cash for university members in Leyte and Mindanao to obviate the logistics challenges of delivering cases of water.

To supplement the relief operations in heavily affected areas, SEIPI turned over cash donations to the Philippine Red Cross, the Tanging Yaman Foundation through the Office of the Vice President, and the ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation.

 Commitment to safety

Amid the surge of COVID cases in the Philippines, Grab announced key initiatives as part of its ongoing commitment to providing Filipinos with a safe and reliable platform for their everyday needs while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of driver- and delivery-partners on the platform.

Grab is increasing its COVID Assistance Fund by 4X to cover the potential loss of income and medical expenses of fully-vaccinated driver- and delivery-partners who have contracted COVID and may need to undergo mandatory quarantine, and those who may experience side-effects from their booster shots.

Grab is expanding its GrabProtect Program to include a weekly mandatory COVID testing for unvaccinated driver- and delivery-partners starting Jan. 17, 2022. Driver- and delivery-partners with negative COVID test results from Grab-accredited testing sites will receive bookings from the platform.

Grab Philippines extends its GrabCar Bayanihan initiative by providing Filipinos with safe, reliable, and affordable rides going to and from vaccination sites. GrabCar Bayanihan is available for individuals who are completing their vaccination, and even for those getting their booster shots.
